How To Play 90-Ball Bingo
All across Europe, Australia and theUnited Kingdom, Bingo is most often played in a version known as 90-Ball Bingo. The game of 90-Ball Bingo is quite different from the traditional, North American favorite,
75-Ball Bingo. While the numbers are called and daubed in the same manner, the Bingo Tickets and winning conditions differ greatly.
90-Ball Bingo is played with numbered Bingo balls, ranging from 1 through 90. Each player purchases Bingo Tickets. Each Ticket contains 15 numbers, ranging from 1-90. Each ticket contains 27 squares, but only 15 of them contain numbers. The remaining squares are left blank.
A Bingo ticket is made up of 9 columns and 3 rows across. Each row will have 5 numbers, totaling 15 numbers on the ticket and 12 blank squares. The first column may only consist of numbers between 1 and 10. The second column, 11 through 20; third column 21 through 30, and so on until the last column, 81-90.
Because of the ticket’s unique design, there are actually more than five-septillion possible Bingo tickets that can be created. What is a ’septillion’, you may ask? Picture twenty-four 0’s… 5,000,000,000,000,000,000,000. Oh yes, that’s a lot of possibilities!

The object of 90-Ball Bingo is to cover all numbers in a single, horizontal row. Once a player has accomplished this, they have one the first round - but the game is not over yet. 90-Ball Bingo actually has three winners for every game.
The winning combinations in 90-Ball Bingo are called ‘One Line’, ‘Two Lines’ and ‘Full House’. Once a player a daubed all 5 numbers in any single row, the second round commences, and each player attempts to daub two full rows of numbers. Finally, the Full House is attempted. A Full House is completed when all 15 numbers on the Bingo ticket are daubed. The Full House generally awards the largest prize in 90-Ball Bingo.
It is of course possible for the same player to win two, or even three, of the 90-Ball Bingo patterns, though it is a rare occurrence. Should two players complete any required pattern and call “Bingo!” at the same time, both players are winners and will split the respective prize.
90-Ball Bingo can be found in Bingo halls all across Europe and Australia, but are especially dense in the UK. The two biggest Bingo operators in this region are Gala Bingo and Mecca Bingo. Hundreds, if not thousands, of online Bingo sites also offer 90-Ball Bingo. It’s little surprise that the most popular online bingo sites offering 90-Ball Bingo are owned by the same UK companies, Gala Bingo and Mecca Bingo.
Playing 90-Ball Bingo online is scarcely different from the land-based
version, offering the same camaraderie of participants, cash prizes and
rules of the game. The only real difference is an ‘Auto-Daub’ feature
built into the software which can be toggled on or off. Auto-Daub
instantly marks any called number, omitting mistakes and misses to ensure all winners are awarded properly.
