South Wales Woman Splits Jackpot With Bingo Buddy - £1.1 million
Monday, January 28th, 2008A 53 year old mom from Bargoed in South Wales hit pay dirt when she made UK Bingo history winning the largest ever National Bingo jackpot. Some say the win may be the largest ever bingo jackpot in the world in fact.
Christine Bradfield the jackpot winner works part time at a garage says she doesn’t have to be there until Wednesday, but she will be there.
“I work three days a week in a garage and luckily I don’t have to be in until Wednesday, but I’ll be there then,” she said.
Bradfield said she won’t give up her job because she couldn’t be out shopping or at home all the time. She further shared with the press her avid love of the game. Bradfield has been a bingo player since she was 18 years old and doesn’t plan to end her passion for the game now.
Christina Bradfield is not the only winner in Sundays big game however, many bingo players have a bingo buddy, someone that they split their winnings with every time they play. Christine has a very lucky bingo buddy indeed, and will be splitting her winnings 50/50 with her sister in law Lorraine Williams, 57. Christine and her sister in law, Lorraine together pledged a long time ago to share any winnings that come from their twice-weekly bingo games together.
“We always share everything whether is £10 or a £1,000,000. I wouldn’t dream of doing anything else. Lorraine is family and best friend as well. We’ll enjoy the money twice as much by sharing it around - we’ll go on a cruise together.”
The National Bingo game links bingo clubs in the UK effectively boosting the amount that can be won on a bingo card. More than 600 bingo clubs across the UK, hosting more than 100,000 bingo players, participated in Sunday nights game.
