£45,000 National Bingo Win
Saturday, December 22nd, 2007Thanks to mom paying for the card, a student nurse got to play the national bingo game and made it pay off with a £45,000 win.
“For some reason I wanted to go. I had no money and mum had to put mine in.” said Amy Ramsdale, 20, from Wigan. Also stating she was feeling lucky she took her mom Jean with her to the local bingo hall.
As for the anticipation to the win, Amy said, “I only noticed when I had four numbers left to get. I didn’t have time to get panicked or worked up because it happened so quickly.”
The wait after the game to confirm the win took about a half hour. The whole time thinking that there was no win she actually won, she burst into tears when the caller pointer to her and said, “It’s you.”
According to her mom, Jean, “People we didn’t know came over and congratulated us, it was heart-warming. We’re not down from cloud nine. Although you hope for a big win you always think it will happen to someone else.”
As for future plans, Amy plans on putting a deposit on a home and taking her boyfriend to Florida, while Jean wants to also take a vacation with her husband. They also plan on continuing to play bingo with one minor change,
“I won’t have to ask my mum for money for a card now,” said Amy.
